Fertility

THE FERTILITY PROJECT

” Her body is not an apology,

it is a temple of creation,

a garden where life takes root,

where pain turns into poetry,

where she carries the weight of generations

and still stands tall”

by: Rupi Kaur

Elements and Symbols in the Installation:

The Clitoris: Different and varied layers because women’s bodies are not one-size-fits-all. The colors and decorations are symbols of different cultures, identities, and the diverse emotions that every woman can embody.

The Arabic font : I chose the “Wissam” arabic font, a modern script that is considered an evolution of the classic Thuluth style. The curves represent the flexibility of women, and the letters form the word “Rahem,” meaning “womb,” the source of life, and “Rahm,” which is a verb that we need often and can only be performed by the strong, who are mostly women.

The installation is an acrylic and ink on fiberglass. The egg is 120 cm high and is delivered in the same “egg cup”..The artwork will be outside during 1,5 week s in Gävle city between 28/3 and 7/4 2024.
